One of the officers was thrown out and fell five hundred feet, being killed. His fall destroyed tho balance of the machine, which was overturned, and crashed to the earth. PARACHUTIST DASHED TO PIECES. Berlin, September 22. Herr Bittner, an inventor, ascended over the Pillar of Victory to test a new parachute device. The parachute failed to act, and the unfortunate man was dashed to pi'eees. A kineinatogrnph operator was present to record the descent, but photographed the tragedy.
