Wedding in St. Petar's. .Tho wedding took place in St. Peter's Church yesterday of Jfiss Fish, third daughter of the late Mr. H. S. Fish, of DuDedin 'who was for several years a member of the House of Representatives), and Mr. H. .1. Mayer, of Wellington. The bride, who was given away, by her brother, Mr. F. Fish, was attended bv her sisl.or, Miss Mildred Fish, and Mr. B. L. Salmon was the best. man. The Rev. Archdeacon Harper conducted the service.

Wedding in St. Thomas's. . A quiet wedding took place at. St. Thomas's Church, Newtown, on Wednesday, September IS, when Mr. E. F. 15. Bockett, of "Ohui," Western Lake; Fentuerston, was married to Mrs. H. P. Wakelin (nee Miss Ethel Range), second daughter of the late Mr. John Bngge, of "Hawkstone," Morton. The Rev. W. Tancourt officiated, only relatives being present. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Frank Bagge, wore a coat and skirt of blue poplin, a hat of ,tagel straw, trimmed with cornflowers, and carried a Prayer-Book. Miss Dorothy Basge, niece of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a dress of white muslin ombroiderv, and hat. to match. She carried a bouquet of daffodils. Mr. R, B. Bockett attended his brother as brst man. Mr. and Mrs. Bockett left afterwards for a trip to Eotorua. At Herctaunga, The golf championship meeting, concluded yesterday, has been most unfortunate in the weather with which it has been attended, rain and wind being the prevailing conditions. Yesterday, however, was a decided improvement, and a great many people travelled out to the links by train and uiofor to witness the concluding matches. When the sun was shining, those who were following up the players found it decidedly warm.. At the present time the countryside is very beautiful to look at, with the fresh,, tender green of the budding trees, shrubs, and grass, and the soft, deen tints that distance lends to the hills anil to the outlying valley, and even those who were most enthusiastic alxiut the game found time to admire the beauty of the valley. , The presenting of the prizes by his Excellency the Governor, who was introduced to the gathering by the president. Mrs. Cuthbertson (Invercargill) passed, through Wellington at the end of last week on her way to Auckland;

Mrs. Cotter, who has been visiting friends in Palmerston for several weeks, has returned to Greytown.
