LONDON PERSONALS. London, August 15. Lady Findlay and her thrco tons have arrived in London. Mrs. Kenneth Jiujjers, who was formerly Mrs. Varnham, of the Wairarapa, has arrived in London. Mrs. T. R. liamer (late of Wellington) and her son and daughter are spending a holiday at St. Leonards-on-Sea. Miss Ellen Da vies, of Auckland and Melbourne, who has been over here since April, is at present in Ireland, staying at Killaloe. Mr. and Mrs. Coscns (formerly Miss Violet Toswill, of Hastings) are living at Orpington. ■ • Miss Muriel Knight, daughter of Dr. Knight, of Auckland, arrived in England a fortnight ago. She is to be married in October. Miss Vera. Dawson, of New Plymouth, has returned from Ireland, and is visiting relatives in Cornwall. Mr. T. Freeman, of Devonport (Auckland), leaves at the end of August lor a cycling trip through the Continent. 'Mr. Isaac Crates, of Hamilton,'has returned from his fortnight's holiday at his old home in Richmond, Yorkshire. Miss I. V. Frickiostein, of Wellington, leaves Edinburgh in September for A'ew York, lor her marriage with Mr. Leo. L'ollcston, of that city.. Mr. 0. Baker and his brother, of Christchurch, arrived here via America and Canada. They intend to shortly tour England and the Continent. • ■
The doctor has ordered Mrs. T. ]3. Dunne, who has been ill for tho past fourteen months, away from London, and she Irit for a month in the Lakes district last Saturday.
Dr. A. S. O'Brien, of Christcliurch, with Mrs. O'Brien, is.in London, and will probably be here till next spring. Ho is busy studying—chieHy eye, car, and throat specialising.
. Mr. ami Mrs. Rosss Trevor, of Auckland, who have been in London for several months, will probably return to Xew Zealand by the. Seydliiz, which leaves on September 2.
Mr. Winy Palliser has returned to town after a few days' holiday at Looe, in Cornwall, where he and his family l\ave made holiday regularly for years. Mrs. Palliwr and the family remain until the middle of September.
• Major-General Robley, the well-known Maori war'•veteran, was knocked down by a motor-car and badly, hurt a'fortnight ago in Loudon, and has since been in. hospital.
Mrs. IV. E. Taylor, of Wellington, is tiavelling with her s'b'n-in-law and" daughter,. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold'B. AVilliams. of Wellington. They leave for Paris and. Switzerland shortly, and will return to Xew Zealand before the. end, of the year.
Mr. Harry Clay, son of Mr. A. H. Cby. of. Wellington,' has arrived in Engleml after being in South America for nearly twelve months. He will spend fame weeks with friends in Ireland before returning to Xew Zealand.
Jlr. and Mrs. Markham, of OnunaWe, have spent, the past two months with relalives in Lincolnshire, and expect to leave for home on the 30th. They intend to spend a short tiiut. in Melbourne en route. . Mr. K. L. Wernham, of Hamilton, is hero ou a trip of business and pleasure, and intends to leave about the middle of October on his return to Xew Zml.hkl. He has so far bseri travelling about Ensland, and intends to visit the Continent for two or three weeks before his visit, ends.
In the "Standard" of Außiist 7, Miss Harriet C. Xoivcomb. lion secretary of the Australasian anil New Zealand Women Voters' Association, had an article on Australian fnnelti??.
Dr. and Jlrs. C. L. Handcock, : late of Ashburton, have' soiic for'a few weeks to Switzerland and France. They hope to return to Sydney by the Zieten. leaving on October lis from Southampton.
Mr. H. C. Harrison, of Christe.hureh, and his nephew, Mr. H. H-arrijon Fisher, are on tour together in this country, where they arrived five weeks a;o. A fortnight has been spent, in Bath, and .'•oino time in Scotland, and the Midlands. They now tour the South Eastern counties, the Channel Islands, o.nd the Continent. Mr. Harrison expepts to reach Xew Zealand in December. Mr. Fisher remains in England for some time on business. Mr. Robert Bell, of Ashburton. who has been travelling in the United Kingdom and the. East for some considerable time. left on Saturday by tli» Maurelania for Xew York, en route for X'ow Zealand.
