SAD ACCIDENT AT PAEROA

CHILDREN IN SAILING BOAT. (Bi Ttlejrapli.-Prane AtßOClfttlon.) Auckland, September 22. A end accident occurred at Paeroa yesterday, the three children of Edward Shaw being drowned. It appears that tour children—Mary Shaw, aged 14, and Kenneth Shaw, aged 12, Jack Shaw, aged 7, and ITrank Moresby, aged 14—were out on the river in a small boat with the. eail up, when the wind caught the sail, aud overturned the boat. A Maori boy saw the accident, and told Mr. Shaw, who was quickly on the scene, and rescued Moresby, who was hanging on to the bottom of the boat. The other three children went down, and /so far only ono body has been recovered. A large party, under a constable, are at present engaged in dragging the river.
