A party of members of Parliament arrived early on Saturday morning, in responso to an invitation by the Chamber of Commerce to spend the week-end in Wnnganui. . At 9.30 the visitors.divided into two patties, one. going in motors to MttngamaliH and the other by the Parana rn Kond. The visitors wero improssed by the potentialities of the district, and predicted that, when tho liaetihi railway is put through, and the necessary road-' ing done, the district will rank as one of the most .important in A'cw Zealand. In the afternoon 'the party were taken to various points of interest in tho town, and in the evening a big banquet was held. An up-river excursion took place to-day, but tho weather ■ was very bad, and, to a great extent, spoiled tho rally. ' •
