The extreme north-west corner of tho iMallee alono escaped. North-east along tho valleys of the Murray, tho waters of tho tributaries havo left a track wider than ever before. There was phenomenal rain in tho Mountains, Wood's' Point getting nearly nine inches in five days. No further fatalities have been feported. tThero'wero many.-narrow escapes. WIDE AREAS UNDER WATER. (Rec. September 18, 9.40 p.m.) i Melbourne, September 18. Wide areas are. flooded in tho Murray 1 /alley. In Southern Gippsland the damage to crops and property is severe. The losses along the valley of the Wimtnera are estimated at'..£loo,ooo. Sydney, September 18. In the Murrumbidgef flood a boy named Ryan, who had roped a drifting log, was dragged into the river and .drowned. ) 'v N.S.W. RIVERS RISING. (Rec. September 22, 0.55 a.m.) Sydney, September 22. Reports from Albury and Wagga state that the river 3 are rising and big floods are pending. Stockowners havo teen •■warned and havo removed the bulk of their stock. There have been some losses'. Four men who took refuge in trees were rescued.
