,__6 , • , The last regular meeting of the John- I sonvillo Town Board prior to the election to be held on September 17 was held last j evening, Messrs. W. L. Thompson (chair- , man), A, J. May, W. Angell, W. 11. Lawrence, O. Jerusalem, and F. T. Mooro being present. * The board's consulting engineer (Mr. Rounthwaite) reported concerning the difficulty in overcoming the trouble in connection with the completion of the watersupply pumping Tho board an- ' thorised the chairman to instruct Mr. Rounthwaite that the plant must be made effective forthwith, and that if tho conractor fails to remedy defects an expert be engaged to do the work at tho former's I expense. The contractors for th sewerago system arc to be similarly warned concerning the delay in completing the reticulation of Pcllicrick Crescent. j The engineer for the petrol gas inslalla- ' tion (Mr. Fox) asked for a supply nf i meters and burners to enable the work t of making houso connections to proceed, j 110 reported that nil was now ready to light the town. The only reason why gas ' could not be generated was tho want of water supply. The Railway Department wrote asking tho board's price [or a supply of water in cases of emergency. i The board had offered a regular daily supply at !)d. pet 1000 gallons, but as the Department desired only an intermittent supply no price was quoted, f
