SOCIAL CLUB.
The report presented at the annual' meeting of the. Wellington City Council Stall' Social Club, held in .the Tiffin rooms last evening, stated that the affairs of the club were at n standstill, mainly for tho want of a club-room, and the committee, had. been unable to collect all subscriptions, the members urging, and rightly so, that they brought them no advantages. On that account the committee had perforce to let the matter .rot until such time as thoy were enabled, through the kindness of the council, to obtain a club-room. The annual social functions were referred to, and in connection with the ball the club's funds benefited to the amount of £TA 2s. The balancesheet showed a credit balance' of ,£3l 7s. 2d. The rppprt and balance-sheet were adopted.. ■ ■ . ■
The following were elected'a committee for the ensuing year:—Messrs. M'Coll,' Luke, Casey. Crombie, Paton, Tavlor, Swinburne, Feaver, Lauchlan, Eoy, Tait, and Godber; secretary, Mr. W. 0. Bock; treasurer, Afr. Grant.
The Mayor and several councillors were present at tho social which' followed the mooting.
