Michael Floury, a driver in tho lioynl N.Z. Artillery, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence, when called upon nil a chargo'oi' stealing X' 3 from Joint Leslie. The money had Iwen- returned, and it was mentioned that accused's previous record was a good one.
Charles Clement l'ish, charged with stealing a set of the New Zealand Consolidated Statutes, the property of the New Zcn.ln.nd Government, was remanded till September 11.
John Kamsay Lister, charged with stealing two sums of money. .CJ3 12s. and ,£2 B*. respectively, was also remanded till September 11. Kuby Kirk was convicted and discharged on ;> charge of insobriety, and, on a further charge of being idle and disorderly, was remanded (ill September 5. A. Patrick Le Seur was arrested by Doteetive-sergeaut C'assells yesterday, and was brought before . the Court in the afternoon on a charge of betting on licensed premises. Harry Wales was also arrested by Senior-sergeant Kutledge, and was charged with a similar offence. In each case bail to (he amount of .fc'lo was allowed, and accused were remanded till September 11.
