GERMANY STANDS BACK. ' (Rec. September 3, 11.25 p.m.) London, September 3. The "Frankfurter Zeitiing" ' and all the- serious German journals arc agreed that Germany is no longer directly interested in the Panama Canal, and Great Britain is therefore not defending Eurfipe's cause but her own treaty. As the right is on Britain's side, that should suffice. •
AMERICAN RESENTMENT. (R«c. Sepemljer 3, 11.25 p.m.) London, September 3. The "Standard's" New York correspondthe European criticism of the Panama Canal Bill is markcdly-affecting American sentiment. Tho Americans ask what right have the European nations to lecture when they themselves have disregarded treaties.
