FOOTBALL PROPOSAL.
EXTENSIVE "SOCCER" TOUR, Br 'Teleffrarh—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. September 2, 1.10. a.m.)
Sydney, September 1. A scheme is mooted to send a "Soccer" football team to tour America, Canada, and Britain. Mr. Alexander Knox, in tho course of o -recent visit to America, communicated ,with Mr. Taft. on tti<> subject. Tho President replied that he would welcome the team provided it was an amateur combination. There is a consensus of opinion here that New South Wales is strong enough to undertake tho tour, but it would bo better to send an Australian, team.
