S.S. HAUPIRI AGAIN.
BAD TIME IN WAIPIRO BAY. IBy TelceraDh.—Press Association) Gisborne, September 1. The Union Company's coastal steamer Haupiri, which has met 'with rough weather in working the Coast, experienced tempestuous seas at Waipiro Bay 011 Saturday, resulting in her, launch, valued at .£IOOO, being irretrievably smashed 011 the rocks in the breakers. Two of the sliip's cargo boats were washed ashore and badly damaged, the llaupiri putting out to sea without tho services of three officers, who were washed nsliore in tho boats. The third mate narrowly escaped drowning owing to (he breaking of a line.
