9 A LEGISLATOR AND THE PRESS. By Telecraph—Press Association-Conyrisht (Reo. August 30, 1 a.m.) Melbourne, August 29. Mr. Malpney moved 'in the House of Representatives to-day, that all. leading and special articles, commentaries, paragraphs, reports, and letters in newspapers should bo signed with the writers' names. Hβ urged that the public should know who wrote the splendid articles published, the design being to raise the profession of journalism to higher levels. The debate was adjourned.
