NO-LICENSE RALLY.
The monthly wily of the Butt NoLicense League was held on Monday night ill St. Augustine's Hall, Adjutant Wellington presiding. Pongs were rendered bv Mr. Holmes, Mr. Maud, Mrs. Hcywood (2), ami Miss Nellie Foster; a duet," "Excelsior," by Miss Foster and Mr. Maud; oml a pianoforte solo by Miss Blakeley. Miss V. J. Kirk was the accompanist. Mr. 1!. A. Wright, lata M.l 1 . for South Wellington, was the speaker, Mr. Wright said tho only solution of the liquor problem was tho abolition of the liquor traffic. Stale control and half-way measures wore useless. Prohibitionists were not "trimmers." The speaker severely criticised the members of Parliament who voted against Mr. Malcolm's Bill, on the ground" that they were in favour of reducing'tho majority on one issue only. The only wav to touch these men, said Mr. Wright, was at tha ballot-box.
