« _ I ' ANNUAL MEETING. J The twenty-third annual meeting of the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts ivas held last night. Mr. H. M. Gore presided. The president, When moving the adop-. Hon of the report and the balance-sheet, ■ said that the year had been a successful one. Success had attended the campaign for a picture fund. , Tributes were paid to the ■ memory of thn lato Mr. H. S. Wardell . (formerly president), and on the suggestion of the president the gathering stood as a mark of respect to its former head. The following are the officers for the year:—Patron, His Excellency Lord Islington; president, Mr. E. M. Gore; vicepresidents, Messrs. H. L. Richardson, W. Fell; council, Mrs. J. A. Tripe, Misses K. Holmes and D. K. .Richmond, Messrs. A. T. Bate, A. Hamilton, J. Ellis, It. Wake-, lin, find L. H. B. Wilson; treasurer, Mr. Charles Wilson; auditor, Mr. C. D. Morpeth ; secretary, Mr. E. A. S. Killick.
