The white ensign on tho Antarctic exploration ship Terra Nova at Lyttelton was flown at half-mast to-day as a mark of respect for the lale Mr. W. Brissenden, who was drowned oa Saturday-night by falling off a wharf at tho French Pass. Mr. Brissenden was a stoker on tho Terra Nova, and came out from England in that ship in 1910, and mado tho two voyages to tho Antarctic. Ho was a member of tho party which sinco Juno has been, carrying out survey work at Admiralty Bay, at the eastern approach to tho French Pass.
