Principals, chorus, ballot, and orchestra are all efficient, and the result is a highlv satisfactory performance from start to finish. There will bo another matinee performance on Saturday afternoon, commencing at 1.15 o'clock.' FULLERS' PICTURES. Tho picture romance, "Darby and Joan," which is being screened at Fullers] Picture; Theatre (Skating Rink) m Vivian Street, is a very interesting story of tho days when knighthood was in ilower. Other items on the programme ore: "Forest Scenes in Australia, "How He Papered tho Room," "Tho Indian and His Child," and "Transformations." KING'S THEATRE.The star picture novelty, "Retribution," is attracting largo attendances to. the King's Theatre. In this picture the leading role is taken by Hiss Asia Neilson, and one of the most entertaining portions of tho picturo is a dazzling uuUcrlly dance. In addition there is a number of other good pictures. To-night's performance, will bo under tho patronage and in the presence of the Wellington aiid New South Wales League teams, when (ho local pictures taken yesterday of the New South Wales team practising at Kelburno Park will be shown. THE NEW THEATRE. Every session yesterday at tho New Theatre, Manners Street, was well 'patronised, when "Tho Flower of the Mormons" was shown for the last time. Today and To-night "The Brand of Shame" will be revived for this date only. Tomorrow (here will bo a complete change of programme, and a stirring adventure, picture ("Attacked by a Lion") will bo reintroduced for one day and night only. Next Monday a recent Continental "hit" —"The Sham Secretary"—will bo presented for the first time in Now Zealand. THEADELPHI. A capital programme of bright, breezy pictures illumines the big white screen at the Adclphi Theatre this week. Tho choicest offerings dramatically arc:— "When Kings Were the Law," "For Sale—a Life," and "Tho Ranch Girl's Mistake." Tin's evening (lie new Nordisk dramatic picture, "Love and Friendship," will )x> screened at the popular house of entertainment. Mr. Stonghton's orchestra deserves a word of praise. "THE REDEMPTION." Lovers of the highest class choral music should assemble in force at tho Town Hall to-morrow evening, when Gounod's impressive work, "The Redemption," will be performed by the Royal Wellington Choral Society, under the baton of Mr. J. M. Barnett. II is five years since Wellington has heard this magnificent oratorio, then performed by. the same society with Messrs. Ajidrew Black, John Prouse, and E. J. Hill in the mnle parts, and on that occasion the compelling might of Gounod's music made a deep impression. On the present occasion the, soloists will be Madame Wiclaert (soprano), Miss Doris Dall (contralto), Mi. Courtonny V. Mchr (bass), Mr. Jas. A. Doherty ' (baritone),' and Mr. C. S. Stephens (tenor).
