This statement was made- by the "News" on. the authority of the Auckland "Star." Tho Government Insurance Commissioner, reporting to the Minister (the Hon. F. M. B. Fisher) upon this statement, says that it is not correct. The legal work at Auckland is arranged as follows:—For general conveyancing work, including the preparation of deeds in respect of securities introduced by themselves or coming from tho public direct or through the agency of solicitors not on the Department list— Messrs. Hnsketh anil Richmond. For general Court work and tho preparation of mortgage securities in respect of loans introduced through his agency—The lion. J. A. Tole, K.C. For tho preparation of securities in respect of loans personally intrortnmUiy themselves nine other firms have tho right to prepare such securities.
