Veitcli, M.l'., declined lo givo nny direct indication of what would bo tho nature of the report of the Cost of Living Commission, though ho gave a slight hint in one direction. "Do yon really think that the report will liuvo much effect?" usked tho reporter. Mr. Voiteh shrugged his shoulders. "It all depends on how (lie Government aceopts it," ho said. "If our rccommendations aro adopted, (hero will undoubt-. udy bo ii big change." Was the existence of. trusts iu New Zealand proved? "New Zealand has not got trusts. Trusts have pit New Zealand," wns tho significant reply.. Mr. Voiteh went on to say that, though witnesses, were loiid in their protestations, there were no blinking the understandings between tho members of tho various branches of suppliers. Tho Commission knew better. They had got ample evidence thnt tho cost of living was tremendously affected by the systems in vogue.
