RATA DAIRY COMPANY.
ANisTJAL REPORT. The annual report of the Eata Co-opera-tive Dairy Co. states that the directors sold the output for tho season at HJd. f.o.b. Wellington, which was at the time a very tempting offer. As things turned out, however, it would have paid better to have consigned, prices being very good on the London market. After making provision for depreciation, thero is a sum amounting to £1657 lis. Bd. to the credit of profit and loss available for distribution. Tho directors recommend a further payment of 24-25 d. per lb. on butter-i'at, which will absorb £1423 Bs. 10d., a 5 per cent, dividend on the paid-up capital, amounting to £104 2s. 3d. This will leave tho sum of £70 Os. 7d. to be disposed of or carried forward. The suggested bonus will bring the price advanced for butter-fat up to U.92d. for the season. . i The manufacturing account for the twelve months ended Juno 30 shows that butter sale's brought £20,370 9s. Bd., and butter-milk sales £27. Milk purchases absorbed the sum of £1G,094 os. 5d., and wages £898 17s. lOd. The following table s.hows the working of the company for tho 1910-11 and 1911-12 seasons, the 1910-11 figures being given in parentheses:—Numbers of suppliers G7 (59); milk received, 8,795.483 (7,815,725); average test, 3.9G (3.98); lb. fat, 355.8G1 (311,316) j lb. butter, 414,725 (359,645); overrun, 16.54 (15.52); lb. milk to lb. butter, 21.G4 (21.73).
