Since last season a now cheese factory has been erected at Manakau, and 112J tons of first-grade cheese were turned out in the first 'seven months.' Cheese factories are iileo being erected at Tokomaru and Newman. ■" "
The turnover for the year amounts to .£93,3G1 os. 3d., made up as follows:—Butter, ,£80,395 12s. 4d.; cheese, £12,965 7s. lid. This shows a substantial increase on tho previous year's turnover, which amounted to £90,015 3s. Id., made up as follows £82,212 Us. Bd.; cheese, £3402 Bs. 3d. ' '
The profit and loss account shows an over-payment of £739 Us. lOd. The payment "for butter-fat amounted to £58,959 12s.':'6d.',.as. against £53,837 os. 9d."for the previous year. Local sales for butter showed a. decrease, being £21,800 Is. 9d., as compared with £32,418 7s. 9d. for 191019/11. The London sales increased, tho corresponding'amounts for 1910-11 and 1911-12 being .£45,264 lis, 7d. and £49,482 lis. 7d. respectively. As far as cheese' is concerned, this Ashhurst factory increased its output. This vcar's output amounted to,£Gl2B 19s. 6d.;.and last years £5011 Us. lid. The Jlanakau factory's output totalled £653G Bs. sd.
