REVIVAL OF TAPESTRY.
The announcement recently made that the Marquis and Marchioness of Bute have established a smaLl factory for the production, of tapestry and lace at Corstorphine, near Edinburgh, calls to mind the names of many distinguished people, who, in these democratic (lays, have no hesitation in associating themselves with business cither for philanthropic or monoy-making purposes. Of our English Kings, Edward VIT was extremely interested in mercantile expansion and was himself a partner in several commercial concerns. The lnte King took a keen personal interest in his stock .farm at Sandringhnm. and his son has inherited his taste. The French kings had financial interests in the china factories at Sevres and Vincennes, wliilo the famous works of Dresden china fnine as Meissen yielded a part of their revenue to the Prussian royal exchequer.
