DEPARTMENT TAKING ACTION. Tho Minister for Marino (the Hon. P. M. B. Fisher) lias given instructions that on tho next occasion of the visit of the Government steamer Hinemoa to the north, careful am! accur.-.te soundings nre to be taken ftt the Three Kings, in tho vicinity of the Western King. The Marino Department has been instructed to make inquiries from England which will elicitfull particulars as to the feasibility of mooring a light-ship, off tho Western King, with a fog bell attached, "11 seems to be practically impossible," said Mr. Fisher to a Dominion- reporter lof.l eveniner, to build a lightliou-.:? on the Western I King, and the difficulties of erecting a lighthouse on either of the ether islands seem to ba almost insuperable. However, our best efforts will be ■ used to try to arrive at some solution of the difficulty that is confronting tho Department at the present time." .
