MIRAMAR WHARF.

INTERCOLONIAL BOAT BERTHED. ! Tho Union S.&. Company's steamer Wailiora is tlio first intercolonial steamer to be berthed at the Hiramar Wharf, in Evan's Bay. She brought 7575 tons of coal from Newcastle, the greater part of which is consigned to tho Wellington Gas Company. As showing the possibilities of berthage . at the suburban wharf, it is stated that the vessel was drawing 20ft. 7in. forward and over 21ft. aft when she arrived. Tho rolling-stock is not quite ready for hauling tho coal from the wharf to the company's works on Miramar flat, so the present shipment is being transferred with drays. It is expected that in about a month s time the new V-shaped trucks will be ready, when, with the aid of a i locomotive, the haulage through the cut- , ting will be a much moro expeditious ( business than at present.
