HARANGUE TO WAIHI MEN. (By Telegraph—Press Asioelatlon.l Waihi, August 9. At a mass meeting of strikers, Mr. E. J. Howard, a member of tho Labour Federation's executive, and Mr. J. O'Brieu (Auckland), gave addresses. Mr. Howard urged the men to hold oiit till the end of tho year. If they did so the federation would have put up one of the biggest.fights in the history of Now Zealand. When.the unions were not in sympathy with the organisation, ho did not advocate retaining them, if they were not satisfied. Such a union could go to —. The speaker hoped the executivo would be able to reduce the levy to 5 per cent., thus reducing tho burden of tho contributing unions. Mr. O'Brien dealt with tho tactics of the 1.W.W., which, in a measure, he supported.
