THE HIGH COMMISSIONER.

WILL LEAVE ON AUGUST 22. Tho new High Commissioner (the Hon. T. Mackenzie) will leave for London by tho Koikoura on August 22. Mr. Mackenzie returned to Wellington yesterday morning, and was in his place in the House of Representatives in the afternoon. This morning ho will leave for Kltham to bid farewell to his constituents, and on Monday evening ho will Ix, entertained at a public function in Eltham, to which he has been invited by tho Mayor of the town. Mr. Mackenzie lias not yet resigned his Beat as.member for Egmont, and does not intend to do so until shortly before hie departure. His appointment as High Commissioner has not yet been submitted to tho Governor for signature.
