Association was held yesterday, there being a good attendance. , 'i'hc retiring president .(Mr. Hugh Mor--1 rison),' in a lengthy sj/eech, dealt with ',' the progress'made by the association during tho past year. - He referred to the increase of over three .hundred mtido in . the membership, which, 'he claimed, was a record that could be shown by no other association in the Dominion. Mr. Morri- , son also mentioned the soundness of tho . markets for wool and other produce, and gave a general survevi'of the condition of . agriculture. Ho paid a special tributo to ■'■Mr. .A. M. Myers,- formerly Minister for i Railways, for the assistance he had rendered the association. He then moved : ., ,the adoption of tho annual report (al- • ready pulilisbcd). Mr. D. M'Gregor, sen., seconded Hie resolution, which was carried unanimous- ' ly. A inotion, of which notice had previously been given by Mr. C. F. Vallnnce, to the effect that any "member contribut- " ing .£lO in. advance may be elected a life r member, was carried, as was also a resolu- . tion electing Messrs. J. D. Cruickshanlc (Wellington), Ernest Short (Feilding), ■' and John, Smith (Masterton) honorary life members.' . It was decided that in future the annual meetings of association be held in the month of August,,instead, of in July. Tho election of officers resulted in Mr. Hu'»h Morrison being re-eletted president without opposition. Messrs. TSlnml Kayner ': and John Strang were elected unopposed '• as vice-presidents, and Mr. D. Caselberg i- (is■treasurer. Vacancies on the committee were filled by Messrs. J. T. Dagg, R. J. Da'g, (',. C. Summerell, W. J. \\ elch, and *'• A. U. Pilmer, there being no other noni- • inations. Seven 'new members were elected.
