RAETIHI RAILWAY.
REFORM MINISTRY APPROACHED. (By Telegraph—Special Correspondent.) Wnnganui, July 27. Prior to tho Eeform Cabinet talcing office, successive Ministers for Public Works gave promises that a trial survey would bo made of'ths lino of the proposed railway between Wnnganui and Raotihi, but the Ministerial beads of Hio Into Government did net, however, carry tho promises into offect. Recently Mr. w. A. Veitch, M.P., wrote' to the Hon. W. rrawsr, tho present Minister for Public Works, on the subject, and has now received a reply that tho matter will havo the Government's consideration when, framing the Public Works Estimates. Meanwhile, the resident Roods Engineer here is to furnish a report on tho amount of settlement which has taken place along, and adjacent, to the route of tho proposed railway.
