THE MUNICIPAL CONFERENCE.
TO COMMENCE TO-DAY. The bi-ennial Now Zeahnd Municipal Conferenco will commence its sittings in the Council Chamber (Town Hall) at 10 o'clock this morning:, under tho presidency of the Mayor of Wellington (Mr. David M'Laren). His Excellency tho Governor has been invited to bo present. Delegates from all parts of New Zealand linvo already assembled in Wellington, and it is believed that there will not ba a great ninny bodies ■unrepresented when the rollcall is taken as soon as possible after 10 a.m. There are a great number of remits, many of which include the samo principle, and will in all probability bo' taken together for the purposes of discussion, in order to savo time. It is anticipated that the conferenco will lost three days—perhaps only two and a half, as several local bodies are represented by members of Parliament, who will have to he in attendance at the House on Wednesday afternoon. Tho Hon. W. H. Herrios is to represent the Tauramja Borough Council at tho conference.
