UNIFORM EMPIRE RATE SOUGHT. ISy Telejraph—Press Association—Copyrieht London, July 23. The Postmaster-General,' Mr. H. L. Samuel, replying to a deputation from the Empire Press Union, which had asked for a uniform newspaper postage for the Empiro of a penny per pound, promised to give tho request consideration. Ho stated that the present rates were unremunerative. Mr. Samuel hoped that it would be possiblo to make a further reduction in cablo rates.
