BRITAIN AND THE RUBBER HORRORS.
GERMANY MAKES AMENDS. By Tolceraph—Press Association—Copyrieht (Rec. July 25, 0.30 a.m.) Berlin, July 24. The "Cologne Gazette," in an inspired article, states that not a few newspapers were misinformed by tho earlier versions of the rubber, atrocities at Putumayo in Peru, and wrongly accused British subjects of being implicated.' The statement made in the Prussian Diet, however, showed that not a single Englishman had participated in the atrocities. The article concludes by deprecating efforts to create bad blood between Germany and Great Britain.
