AN EXCHANGE OF COURTESIES.
PEIME MINISTER AND ADMIEAL. The following telegTam of weloomo_ was dispatched by the Hon. W. F. Massey (Prime Minister) to Vice-Admiral Sir Geo. King-Hall, Commander-in-Chief on the Australasian Station, on liis arrival at Auckland yesterday morning with his flagship, H.M.S. Drake:— "I desire to tender on behalf of myself and my colleagues a very hearty welcome in this, your first visit to tho Dominion, I trust that your stay will be a pleasant ono and I shall be glad if you will let mo know if you will require any information at my disposal. I regret that I am unable to l>e in Auckland to welcome you personally, but I hope to havo tho pleasure of seeing you later on." Sir Goo. King-Hall replied yesterday as follows: — "Many thanks for your kind telegram of welcome to New Zealand. Much regret only remaining until Monday next. Expect to pay New Zealand a long visit end of this year when I shall hopo to havo tho pleasure of meeting you."
