DAILY MEETINGS PROBABLE. Ministers of tlio Crown aro working at high pressure, as they have been siiico tlicy look office. Cabinet held another long sitting yesterday afternoon. Tlio Primo Minister replied, on being questioned, that ho bad nothing to discloso as to the business dono that day, but t>tate<l that G'abinot lvould sit every day henceforth until the Houso met. Most ol' tlio sittings will probably bo held at nigfit. All arrears of Departmental work have now been clearal oft, an<l the Ministry is in a position to deal with matters of policy in preparation for tho session. Individual Minis Tors havo already put in a good deal of work upon their Estimates and upon Bills to bo brought down this session. Tho Primo Minister declines to make any' disclosures in regard to liis policy proposals, but ho told a deputation yesterday that a. Land Bill would bo brought down this session. It may bo ventured that tli& Government will mako its position in reference to important policy questions very clear before tho session terminates. Opinions vary as to the probable length of the session, but in all likelihood it will last until the mid<Uo of October. The only Minister out of town yesterday was tho lion. W. I'raser, who was engaged in investigating back-block requirements at To Kiiiti. He is to return to Wellington by Main Trunk express todav. The Hon. E. H. Rhodes goes to Greytown to-day to open the Buchanan Home. Ho will be accompanied by the Hon. 1\ M. B. Fisher and the Hon. Dr. Pomare. All three Ministers are to return to town in the evening. The other Ministers ore in Wellington.
