THE CABINET.
ACTIVITY OP MINISTERS. Cabinet sat for two hours ami a half last night, but the Prime Minister stated after tho meeting that only Departmental mailers had been dealt with. Another meeting of Cabinet is to lie held to-day, but somo of tho more important mallei's which await attention may ho held over for a day or two until all the Ministers aro in town. Last night two Ministers were_ absent, the Hon. AY. rVnser, at To lvuiti, from which plaeo ho is to return on Thursday, and tho Hon. It. 11. Rhodes, at Christcliurch. Mr. Rhodes is to return to-day. The Prima Minister returned yesterday from his (rip to Woodville, and tho Hon. W. 11. fleiTie-s from Auckland. Mr. Herrics did not receive any deputations whilo in tho north, his trip bomg made in connection with private affairs.
