TRAMCAR ACCIDENT.
CONDUCTOR'S FATAL INJURY. Between 1 p.m. anil 2 p.m. yesterday. Conductor Frederick Hancock, employed in the city tramway service, was latn.ily injured in Fcatlierston Street. Ue was engaged in. changing the destination board at tho sido ot ! a double-decked car, mid in leaning out to get u destination hoard nut of its socket, Mb head camo in contact, with one of tho mid-track standards, with the result that he sustained a severe blow, which fractured his skull, and he was removed to the Wellington Hospital in an unconscious condition. Death supervened at 1(1.15 last night. Deceased was it married man residing in Tasman Street.' He leaves a family of three little, dli.ildren.
