SEARCH SO FAR FRUITLESS.
(By Tclesraplh-Prcss Association.) Christchurcb, July 22. The littlo boy, "Bobbie" Smith, who strayed from his father's house, in Aldred Street ten (lavs ago, is still mis-nig. I lie police have scoured Chrislchurch and iollowcd up numerous clues without tangible, result. Constables to-day were engaged in a vigorous quest for the lest boy, ami instructions have been given to men working on the river to keep a sharp lookout for any trace. Inquiries are being made in Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland for the lad's mother. It has been ascertained that on the third of this month she left Auckland, ostensibly to visit some friends in Napier, but tho police there have sp far boon unable to find her. It is thought possible that. *lio may have recently been in Christcburch, and that such a visit would perhaps be connected with (ho boy's disappearance.
