HASTINGS POULTRY SHOW.
- - ' i _______ (Br Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.) ■ Hastings, July 12. The annual exhibition of the Hastings Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Society was opened to-day in the local Drill Hall. The entries are exceedingly large, .totalling over 1100, which is said to bo a 'record for the Dominion All classes of rmultry n-ra well, represented, but black mmoTcas call for special mention All but the gome and bantam classes are being judged by Mr J H Hemeworth, of Sydney, who is Tecognised as one of the leading poultry judges in Australasia The other-judges aro: Game and bantams, Mr. S. ,T. Johnston, Palmerston North; utility classes, Mr. A. M. Robertson, Hastings; pigeons, Mr. W.. , Frnser, Christohurch; canaries, Mr. J. M. Thomson, Auckland. The arrangements for the show have been oxcel•lently made, and tho secretary (Mr. B. ,C. M'Cormick) has spared no pains to give satisfaction to exhibitors and the public. Heavy rain fell to-day and interfered with the attendance, but the prospects for tomorrow are good.
