DANNEVIRKE SHOW COMPETITIONS. Tho full returns in connection with the fat lamb competition at the Inst* JJannevirke show have now: beeii received trout London. The class was lor five tat iambs, bred by the exhibitor, to be judged , locally and again in London, and also to bb; judged on the grass returns. Olie pen ot Air. Kathbone's, which was awarded first place in the local judging was placed second by the London judges as regards quality and suitability lor the London market, and came out tilth on the gross returns. Another pen by tho samo placed by .the' London judges, and came breeder; placed second locally was uuthird on the gross returns. One of Mr. J. Armstrong's pens was placed third in Dannevirke, fourth in London, and second on the gross returns. Other pens exhibited by Mr. Armstrong which were not placed at the show were awarded first and third places in London, and on tho gross returns came eighth and seventh respectively. Pen No. 84 (Mr. Annstrong's), which was not placed in either the local or London awards, realised the largest amount. Another pen by the same breeder (No. 85), which was similarly placed, realised the fourth highest figure. Accordingly Nos.- 81 and 80 take the-first and second- prizes for the Home, judging, that is to.say, as being the most profitable lambs out of those taking part in the competition. There was only one lot of light lanibs in the whole shipment (Mr. L. G. Thompson's). The others all exceeded 401b. in.■weight, and were classed by the London judges as tegs.
