Anglo>New Zealand Wedding. Says "The Queen":—St. Peter's Church. Crnnley (Jardcus, London, was the >cene on May JO of tho wedding of Miss Phyllis M. Mackenzie and Mr. Garnet \V. Twigg, son of ilr. H. -f. Twigs, of Pet one Grange, ILawke's Bay, New Zealand, the officiating clergyman biMngjlie Rev. Hugh Brew (cousin of the bride) and the Rev*. S. Swayne (vicar). Mr. W. G. Mackenzie of Earl's Court Sfjuare, gave his (loughror away, and she wad attended by two small train-bearers and two bridesmaids. The littlo maid were a quaint taifefas silk frock, and the page was in a cream velvet suit, whiUt the two bridesmaids wore cream taffetas dresses with lace tunics. Thoy carried bouquefa of pink lo.ves, and in their hats the crystal and pink quartz hatpins given to them by the bridegroom. Mr. E. P. A\. \\edd was best man. The bridal gown of ivory satin and panue had a transparent court train of Iloniton lace, anU a tulle veil was warn with u coronal of orange blossom. Mr. Mackenzie held a reception at 16 Kensington Gore, which was lent by Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Gray, and Mr. and Mrs. Twigg left later for o motor tour, the brido travelling in a tailor-made pas-tol-bluo cloth costume and black hat adorned with shaded roses. St. Mary's Guild.
The monthly meeting of St. Marys Guild was held at the Diocesan Office, Jtnlgrave Street, yesterday morning. Jliss Coates presiding. It was that the alterations to tiio laundry at St. Mary's flonie, lvarori, had been finished, and hat Mrs. .lames Hudson, of Nelson, nnd the Uirls' licalm Guild had each sent donations of .£3. His Excellency the Governor had recently visited the home, and had expressed himseH vorj pleased with the management. The election ol officers resulted as follows: —Visitor, the Bishop of Wellington (Dr. Sprolt); warden, Archdeacon Harper; chaplain, the Itev. A. h. Hansel!; president, Jliss Coates; vice-presidents, Jlcssrs. Tanner, Duncan, Harper, anil Jamieson; lion, treasurer, Miss Fowles; lion, sec, Jlrs. Hayes.
Unthought-of Results. | It is to bo hoped that no other lady will try the experiment by which a- resident of Oamaru subjected herself to grave personal discomfiture. Sho was of an. ingenious turn of mind nnd had 6omo knowledge of mechanical appliances, together with a great idea, of labour-saving methods. A capital inspiration, she thought, and forthwith sho proceeded to give effect to it. Sho found it impossible to extricate herself from the entanglement, and cried with a loud voice for assistance. First aid was furthcoming, but even then there was a difficulty in separating tho hair from its mix-up with the wringer. She vows she will never icpeat the experiment. The Society of St. John. A meeting of the District Nursing Guild of St. John was held at the rc-si-denoo of ill's. Sefton Moorhouso yesterday afternoon, when the following members of the committee were present-.— Mrs, S. A. Rhodes, Lady of Grace of tho Order of St. John (president), Mesdamos S. D. Tripe, W. 11. S. Moorhouse, A. A. Corrigan, J. P. Luke, 11. \V. Preston, Jliss JI. E. Robicson, and Jlrs. W. li. Fisher (hon. secretary). Jlrs. Balcombo Brown apologised for unavoidable absence. The senior nurse submittal the report for Juno, which set forth particulars of the work done by tho guild's nurses during the past month. From this it was gleaned that 743 visits had been paid (o the sick poor, 13 additional patients registered, and there had been 2 deaths. The cases wore miscellaneous. A subscription of .El Is. was received from Jlrs. Jtaorhouse in aid of the Emergency Fund. Comforts, old linen, etc., were sent to the nurses by Jlesdames Jlitford, Tripe, Ashcroft, Hoare, Davidson, jroorhouK?, Harper, Valentine, Nicholson, Luke, Preston, Low. Williams, Smith, Compton. Bioknell, Denton, Stevens, Goodrich. Downliard, Ward, Ranwell, Young, Stock, Simlciu, Dr. Gilmer. Gear Co., "A Friend.' Girls' Realm Guild, and tho Terrace Church Voung Women's Club. The committee, specially desire to thank Jfr. Ewing for a sul)stont.ial donation of coal, which is being distributed among the sick poor.
