The annual entertainment of the Wellington branch ol' tlie Victoria League took place in tho .Masonic ilall in Houlcott; Street Inst evening, a very large number # of members of the b-aguc and their friends being proenl. A very enjoyable programme of pianoforte music, songs, and recitations, together with a bright and very brief playlet, performed by some of the members' of Our Girls' Branch of the league, and written by one of Hie members of the parent- league, had been arranged for the entertainment of those present, the occasion I>eing the first of its kind upon which the parent branch of tlie league and its off-shoot, the girls' branch, havo co-operated in tho same undertaking. The reason for that i?, of course, tint the younger branchis but a recent development in this city, having been started by Mrs.. Corliss a little owr a year ago. Luke, and other members ol tho committee. Lady Islington was wearing a dress of soft bluo satin, veiled with black, and with wonderful jewel ltd embroidery almcst covering tho upper part ol' tho gown. She wore a chain of diamonds and pearls, and a jewelled baud in her hair. Miss Stanleton Cotton wore green charmruse with a white satin cloak. Mrs. Guiso was in blacV, and Mrs. Stoplord, who, with Commander Stopford accompanied tlnnr Excel loncies, was in a soft black gown with a black, gold-embroidered scarf. Mrs. Godley, with General Godley, was aUo present, and was in black with a black satin cloak.
