In tlio enso against Robert M'Mostor, Sub-Inspector Hendry gave ovidenoo to tho efl'ect that defendant was in tho habit of frequentins Vulcan Lane, and apparently had no other occupation save that of Iwokmnkor. Defendant entered a ple-i of not guilty, Tho magistrate, in giving his deoision, stated that tho evidence against defendant had been very conclusive. 110 had beou scon constantly frequenting what was known to bo tho betting area, and upon tho approach of tho police would disappear suddenly. lie would be fined .£2O, tho minimum penalty. In connection with tho oasos heard on Monday, Charles Fenton was fined .1:30 with costs, while Frank M'llattio and Thomas Oliver wero cncli fined ,C2O with ci|sls.
