A section of minors allied 10 tho Federation of Lalxiur has pre. sonted tho Otago mine-owners with a proposal for 'a now agreement. Tho directors of tho Now Zealand Coal and 011 Co. (owners of Kaitangata) will to to Kaitnngata to-morrow to meet tlio men. Tlio demands include an.increase of 2s. Cd. in wages per shift in dips, and an increase of Is. Sd. for other shifts; nu mcrcaso of 15 to 20 per cent, in pieeo work j an increase of 2s. per shift for truckers. Tlio men demand lis. per shift for engine-drivers, and 10s. for fire-Tfu-V !• 110 , UI ! io , 11 re 6>stered under tho Arbitration Act have also forwarded' demands for consideration by tlio Kaitw ugata mine-owners.
