MEN'S BROTHERHOOD.

The meeting , of the Wellington Men's Brotherhood in the New Theatre yesterday afternoon was well attended. Tho BeV. K. 0. Bfemires acted, as chairman. Miss Dorothy Jones sang a solo, "Sun of my Soul," and was loudly applauded. Mr. Simmouds gave a recitation, v Mr. J. T. M. Hornsby delivered an address on the subject of "Labour." The greatest and best minds, lie said, were occupied in attempting to solve- the labour problem, but up to the present it had baffled the entire world. Men were now thinking for themselves, nnd education niiret be thanked for the improved conditions which existed all over the world. Germany was engaged in trying to solve the labour problem, and hi> believed that she would solve it, through the power cf education and energy, and thus provide for the whole world a way out of the greatest struggle ever known. Mr. Hotiisby referred to the awful conditions rampant in Great Britain, and staled that even in New Zealand things were not altogether as they should be. In the latter part of his address Mr. Horasbv emphasised the value of a good home life in its influence upon the formation of character. On the motion of Mr. .T. Lewis, Mr. Hornsby was given a hearty vote of thanks for his address.
