AN AMBASSADOR ON TOUR.
MI!, JAMES BR-YCE IN AUCKLAND. {By Telegraph.—Press Association,'* Auckland, May 30. Tho Right Hon. James Bryee, British! Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary at Washington (U.S.A.), arrived in Auckland to-night by the Talunc from America, via Cook and Society Islands. Mr. liryce, who is accompanied by Mrs. Bryee, intends to stay in Auckland for two or three days, but beyond Hint ho lias no programme arranged. He will go south, and at Wellington will meet Lord Islington, who is a personal friend. Later he will go on to the South Island. Ha will be tendered a civic reception at Auckland to-morrow morning. Mr. Bryee said he had long been iiniions to visit Now Zealand and study at first-hand the social and economic" do* velopmonU of the country. "1 was only a little way off," ho added humorously.
