A meeting was held to-night of th# Auckland branch- of the Post and Telegraph Officers' Association (o protest against the circular ill reference to gaml>> ling issued by the Postmaster-General. There was.a large attendance. The meeting . unanimously condemned the c.ction of tho Postmaster-General and considered the circular an insult. The following resolution was carried which wilt reach theMinister through the proper quarter:— "That this meeting emphatically and respectfully resents the recent circular issued by the Secretary of the- Post and Telegraph Department ill regard to gambling. 11l view of existing regulations and tho strict observance thereof, wo consider it absolutely uncalled for, and furthermore au interference to an unwarranted degree with our liberties as citizens of tho State. Then-fore we rcspeotfuily ask that it be withdrawn."
