CITY FIRE POLICE.
The monthly meeting of the .Wellington Tire Police was held last evening at tjio Central Fire Station. Captain Wright, speaking on behalf of the corps, congratulated Superintendent Tait on" his recent appointment as chief of the Citv Firo Brigade. Superintendent Tait suitably replied. The corps decided to cancel its annual "social" and dance as a mark of rcspeet to tho memory of tho late Third Officer M'Lean, who met his death under tragic circumstances at the recent Manners Street fire. It was decided to. Isold tho usual card tournaments between members of the I'ire Police and representatives of the brigades at the various st&tions, and .a committee of officers of tho corps was set up to carry these out.
