It is needed as much for chee-e as for butter-making districts. The results will among other benefits be thn!, as in the North Island, dairy farmers will see that good breeding pays, and will launch out in bringing the best of imported bulls to improve their herds. It is surprising that as yet farmers in tho South Island have not taken to coir-tosting so much as in tho North. We don't in tho South import cattle much, and most of our best Ayrshire breeders sell the. main portion of their cattle to Australia and the North Island. Wo really need all these and many more."'
