Doctor Gnazda, of Agram (Hungary) read a paper before the Academy of Medicine showing the valuable results of the use of a compound of arsenic and phosporous in arresting tho cancerous growth by necrosis. ' Necrosis is most frequently the result of acute bono inflammation or severe injury, as after amputation, compound fracture, or contusion. The complete arrest of nutrition in a portion of bone from any cause is followed by the death or necrosis of the bone, and by a series of inflammatory changes in the adjacent parts, which result in the complete separation of the dead from tho living tissue.
