TERRIFIC GAS EXPLOSION.
WORKMAN'S HEAD BLOWN OFF. By Telegraph—Press Association-Copyright. (Rec. May 10, 0.35 a.m.) London, May 9. A terrific gas explosion occurred at Stratford, wrecking the metrehouse and adjacent buildings'. A workman was found in the ruins with his fcead blonw off; another was desperately fSjured. The town and surrounding'villages were thrown into darkness.
