AN ALLEGED MEAT RING
TOWN CLERK OF FREMANTLE'S REPORT. ,By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright Perth, May 9. Tho Town Clerk of Fremantle, reporting against the Government proposal to erect Stato abattoirs, makes strong charges regarding an .'alleged meat ring. Ho shows that cattlo are cxpoited to Asiatic countries at a much cheaper rate than they can be supplied locally, and he advocates a prohibitive export duty as tho most effective means to check the operations of the ring and ensure cheaper prices locally.
